A couple of links I found eye-catching this week

  • Bon Appetit has a whole section called “Cooking without recipes,” which really describes my cooking style.
  • When I bought my Silhouette Cameo 3, it was October, and searching around did yield all sorts of tutorials, videos and tips, but it felt like it was trial by fire (and learning by failure). For Christmas, Silhouette School posted   10 Tips for Getting Started with your First Cut and 10 Things No One Tells Beginners Before the First Cut and both really would have made my my first weekend a lot easier.
  • Craft room tours on Pinterest are a big thing, and while this one is outdated (she has since moved into a craft cottage) I really like it because it’s a more realistic representation of home crafters.
  • And the car enthusiast as well as the pre-press tech at suzerspace enjoyed  swiss-miss.com’s link to this weird Porsche digital art.

First Friday: January 3, 2017

  1. New Christmas Stockings! I added my name using a variation of the technique used for these cards.
  2. First snow of the season!
  3. Contact paper snowflakes for the back window.
  4. Paper flower for the top of the Xmas tree. I saw a Pinterest pin that led me to here (which is not in English, but a picture IS worth a thousand words).
  5. This year’s Christmas Tree. My husband says every year is the best one yet!
  6. Paper reindeer – I actually made 8 with black noses and one with red for the back window. Again, from a Pinterest pin that leads to a page not in English.
  7. Christmas Dinner (my plate – I’m a vegetarian, so it’s all about the side dishes). Green Bean Casserole, Roasted Brussel Sprouts, Roasted Sweet Potatoes with Carrots, Cranberries and Feta, Cauliflower Au Gratin, Stuffing, Zucchini and Tomato Tartin and Cranberry Devil Death Sauce.
  8. My Christmas Present – an Alex cart from Ikea. The right size to hold my Silhouette Cameo, and the drawers are large enough to hold 12 x 12 paper.
  9. New Year’s Eve Dinner – Cheese Enchiladas
